The Miracle Worker (Alabama’s Official Outdoor Drama)

June 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, 29 and July 12, 13, 19, 20, 2024

Performed at the outdoor theater on the grounds of the historic Helen Keller Birthplace, William Gibson’s play The Miracle Worker recalls the childhood of the deaf-blind child, who became known as “America’s First Lady of Courage”, and her gifted teacher, Anne Sullivan. See the world of communication open to Helen at the very spot where the miracle took place. The outdoor drama is the longest consecutively running drama in the state. This annual performance is held on Friday & Saturday evenings from June to mid-July. Gates open at 7 pm, and the show starts at 8 pm. Concessions are available.
