Indian Mound and Museum
The Florence Indian Mound is the largest domiciliary mound in the Tennessee Valley. At the base of the mound, the Museum contains exhibits centered around the history and culture of the Native American people of the area. The site is also a community gathering space that hosts programs focused on education. The mission of this museum is to serve as a center for stewardship, education, and understanding of the people indigenous of the Muscle Shoals area. The Museum if dedicated to preserving the Woodland period landscape of the site and fostering community dialogue through public programming.
